Description
A full size prop of Genesis Rhapsodos' Sword, from Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core, made on commission.
This sword was made from a base of solid pine, planed and sanded down to give the correct taper to the blade.
The hilt is constructed from wonderflex, which was then smoothed over with P38, to remove the mesh-like texture.
It is painted with acrylic paint.
This prop was made approximately 2 years ago.
It was made in a week, with the help of a friend (Chris).
There are a lot of things I would do differently now, if I were to make this prop again.
I would sculpt the hilt and cast it in resin, rather than form it out of wonderflex. Also, I would paint it a little differently, using the same technique I applied to the automail I made fairly recently ([link]).
Overall though, it's still a fairly impressive prop. As far as I recall, it measures around 5'6" long.
